Sticking with the theme of, uh, far-right politicians who are quite obnoxious, this time in a different country, I'm gonna go with Jordan Bardella.

He's the young president of Rassemblement National, the French far-right party, and he turned up, he's only 30 years old, this guy, this kid, child.

Very kind of contrary to the general image of the far right, in inverted commas.

In France, you've got Marine Le Pen, who's a capable communicator, but I actually think it's a terrible mistake for her to run there because when she wasn't allowed to run, there was a young lad called Jordan Bardella.

And again, a very good communicator, did an awful lot.

Selon ses propos, les indiscrétions sur un mariage imminent sont infondées.

"Je étais totalement surpris.

Maria Carolina est tellement détachée du monde politique français que je n'aurais jamais imaginé la voir au côté de quelqu'un comme Jordan Bardella", a-t-il déclaré.

It has them join the Democratic Party in primaries, which means that there's well over 100 Democratic socialists who have won their Democratic primaries and are now looking for office.

And they're getting more and more radical.

There was just last week a Marxist conference in America where the one of the candidates there was saying that even the Democratic Party can't be reasoned with, it has to be destroyed.

So this warfare with socialism, it's not just Democrats versus Republicans, but you've actually got an extreme radical fringe of Democrats who are literally quoting Karl Marx and claiming that the Democratic Party itself has to be destroyed and made more radical.

I do find it fascinating, like depressing and fascinating how coordinated the like European far right and like beyond, you know, Steve Bannon's been.

kind of building this far right at Internationale for like some time now and Jordan Bardella is a very like TikTok savvy French politician the new face of National Rally formerly known as Front National tipped to be the next kind of leader after Marine Le Pen who's obviously previously was her was Le Pen like her father so like I find this kind of getting Jordan Bardella over makes sense in PR terms because he gets a lot of attention he's big on TikTok he's I guess, telegenic, like he's young.

I don't want to say he's hot.

I can't go that far.

But it does kind of also expose this like inherent contradiction with trying to be in lockstep with like other far right parties, because the core of nationalism is like our nation is best.

our people are best and we will put our nation first and that's not to say then that far-right parties can't collaborate but like the migration question is a great example because like the easiest solution is to say these people shouldn't be coming over they belong in France and so yeah it just it's kind of it seems like an odd thing that they hadn't thought through beyond won't it be great to get Jordan Bardella over he will make some great TikToks

I mean, you can do it, right? But you can't do it with countries that are really close to you.

Like, you need some buffer countries so that you can blame them later and say that's where the immigrants should go.

I can definitely quibble with his numbers.

Remember, I said this on the last pod we did, watch Bardella's visit, not just Macron's.

The French media are going mad about that.

And I think if there was none of that other scandal going on, Farage and Sia Youssef would be like, see, if the French media are going nuts, this actually means something, this pledge that we've signed with who's likely to be prime minister in France next year.

Farage says reform has broken no laws and the standards inquiry into his own finances is running again.

And then on Friday, Farage stood on the stage with Jordan Bardella, president of France's national rally, Marine Le Pen.

Um, And he signed a memorandum of understanding to stop the boats forever.

And I have to say, I was really struck by this as a political move.

But are people beginning just, you know, leaving aside the scandals on funding or what have you, are people starting to get just a little bit bored of it at

So, Patrick, we watched the conference last week, or we probably didn't watch it in detail, but we certainly saw the headlines.

But I was struck by that signing of the agreement with Bardella and Steege.

I thought that was a very interesting move.
