One is about the impromptu renaming of a church.

St. Mary's in Daytona was originally named St. Mark's, and, um, when they were ready to, uh, to build their first church, uh, the cornerstone arrived from, uh, from far away, uh, where the name of the church had been cut into the stone.

And, uh, instead of unpacking it, they left it crated and they took it in a procession, uh, up the street, uh, with clergy and, uh, Masons available for a Masonic, uh, uh, ceremony at the groundbreaking.

Uh, and they, uh, they pried open the crate and pulled out the stone and, uh, the entire crowd, uh, fell silent because instead of saying St. Mark's, uh, they had misconstrued the, the, uh, the K as a Y and it said St. Mary's.

So [laughs] they, they quickly, uh, they hastily assembled, uh, uh, a conference and decided on the spot that rather than ship the stone back and get a new stone, which would take months and, and to postpone construction, they, they decided that a, uh, divine hand might've, uh, been in the, in the stonecutter's transposal, and they renamed St. Mark's St. Mary's on the spot.
