Jonathan Kolb

There's what is the vision for this team? And so it just kind of is unfortunate that, you know, a lot of these answers are going or all, a lot of these questions are going unanswered.

Yeah, is there any plan for Jonathan Kolb to address the media at all? Like, to your

knowledge? Not at this moment.

Yeah.

they didn't like replace her, like, you know, hire a totally new person.

There was like some restructuring within the front office.

Uh, Epiphany Prince is now, you know, working closely with Jonathan Kolb and stuff, but you know, I think the Liberty are looking at expanding their front office.

Um, they're building that practice facility or they're planning to build the practice facility.

It's easy to play from behind and now say, oh, they shouldn't have done that because this didn't work out.

There were reasons that the Liberty organization and Jonathan Kolb and ownership they had a vision for why they felt they needed to take the next step forward.

And there have been many examples of a team being successful under a coach, and they've moved that coach and changed it, and then the next coach took them to another level.

So it's not like it's never been heard of before what happened with the Liberty.

that it would take to coach in the WNBA and then you saw a lot of points too that it felt like somewhat like Brianna's story in particular kind of took more of a leadership role of kind of getting the team over the hump than maybe even DeMarco did especially if we look back to that recent timeout debacle but it was really notable to me after the Liberty did get eliminated and how no one went to bat for Chris DeMarco none of the players went to bat for him when when asked about his future.

And so moving forward, this is general manager Jonathan Kolb's fourth head coach hire in his tenure.

And so they have to get this right.

And they're going to have to maybe take some time with this, maybe look with someone who has a little bit more experience in the women's game or has more head coaching experience.

Um, just a quick thought here.

You know, I really like Jonathan Kolb, who is the GM of the Liberty.

I really like him.

But you set a precedent when you let Sandy Brondello go for winning after winning a championship.

The Liberty will be looking for their third coach in three years and fourth head coach hire under general manager Jonathan Kolb.

I think this Chris DeMarco would come on, just rip that general manager, Jonathan Kolb.

I've said this so many times, so many times over the season.

And so you land on Chris DeMarco, But the, you know, the situation there, let me actually go back because Jonathan Kolb also talked at the introductory press conference.

And what we heard him say is that this was a detailed two month search, that the detail, the panel of people.

who helped with this search, it needed to be detailed because that's what the organization owed the players and that's what the organization owed the fans.

Chris DeMarco, the head coach in 2026.

And there will be a different head coach in 2027.

Now, Jonathan Kolb was at the helm for hiring all of these coaches.

And Jonathan Kolb in the Chris DeMarco introductory press conference did mention that, again, there was a group, a panel, effectively, that was a part of the search committee for what ended up being the Chris DeMarco hire.
