Peter and I wrote a variety of songs together, as did Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips, the original.

And we sort of did combine and made various tapes with Jonathan King in England.

And, you know, we did do an album with him called From Genesis to Revelation and a few singles.

But we kind of, you know, we hadn't really thought about playing live.

So, Tony, you mentioned more ambitious music.

What did that mean to you at the time you were writing songs and looking to perform live? What was within the boundaries? What were you trying to achieve? What was inspiring you at the time?

Well, I think we sort of having done the stuff with Jonathan King, he liked, you know, his taste was very simple.

And every time we tried to go a little bit further out, he was not into that.

When artists needed a guitarist back then, they either went to Lil Jim or Big Jim back in those days.

As the decade rolled along though, Page was featured on a variety of notable recordings by the likes of Marianne Faithfull, Jonathan King, Brenda Lee, Van Morrison, The King, even The Who.

Jimmy provided rhythm guitar licks for The Who on their first single, I Can't Explain.

In 1966, Page got the idea of assembling a super group with Keith Moon and John Entwistle from The Who and Jeff Beck and John Paul Jones.

I do this for Jonathan King.

For international audiences, the group changed its name to Blue Swede.

When Blue Swede recorded Hooked on a Feeling in 1973, they borrowed heavily from Jonathan King's arrangement, including the chant, but added their own energetic performance style.

The recording featured Skifs on lead vocals, strong group harmonies, a louder, more dramatic pop rock approach, and the unforgettable opening chant.

Their version was released in 1974 and exploded in the United States.

Each generation discovered it in a different way.

Hooked on a Feeling is one of the rare songs where the cover version became more famous than the original.

B.J. Thomas recorded the first hit, Mark James wrote the song, Jonathan King introduced the chant, and Blue Suede created the version that became immortal.

Blue Suede may have been remembered as a one-hit wonder, but they achieved something many artists never do.

Eight weeks in the official UK top 50 after entering at number 46 on the 29th of May 1971 and peaked number 23 for two weeks.
