the way they sold it before the subsidy was, "Hey, we'll find, we'll, we'll get you to make it easy to ba- basically bill a higher code." And what was needed was k- sort of the opposite, was just the essential truth of the record, not bloated up with unnecessary clicks, uh, but always on.

So that was the second wave, and it took a lot of work to get the early customers to try.

And then the third thing was how do you, even though everybody knows quality of care is better and everybody knows that ultimately in a capitated world, um, you know, the lower cost providers will win, how do you get the early people to make money on that when, when really we're not really totally capitated yet today?

You know,

we're seeing risk contracts actually be a place where you can make money and build a business, but only recently.

But to Ada's point, one of the many reasons the architecture, I mean, Athena Health was all written in one string of pearl code starting in 1997.

So it was not exactly a... modular, you know, architecture.

And of course, we needed to cooperate with competitors who really just wanted to snuff us out.

And truth be told, we probably wanted to snuff them out.

So Zeus sort of said, well, what if we took the data layer and made it a separate industry? What if there was another thing besides EMR? There was just data.

Who else?

No, we are going to bring a

little more American dream energy to Maine, which needs it badly.

It's not as rich a state as it deserves to be.

But Zeus is exciting.

And it's so exciting, in fact, that I can... run for governor of Maine.

We're kind of closing in on 10 million records in our national common patient record.
