No, I don't think it was.

I think 17-7, and then it was 24-14, uh, which, uh, an, an immaculate two-minute drill that Walker Igitt, Nate Shepherd, Jonathan Brewer.

Jonathan Brewer especially called a great game, but that two-minute drill where Nate Shepherd started off with a stiff arm that just made me chuckle, 'cause Nate Shepherd just, he makes me laugh because he's so damn dominant, uh, in every aspect [laughs] of the game right now.

And to see him have that stiff arm to get a first down.

Walker Igitt had explosive passes.

Right

... you know, the offense, you struggle.

It's, like, Jonathan Brewer then Manny, for sure.

Despite the Illinois game last year, the special team struggles we had there, he's done a great job of turning that group around.

Jonathan Brewer, the offensive coordinator, he does a good job with what limits he has in two of his three years at quarterback.

And then Coach Patke, we just don't.

I'm not a big believer in a defensive system that prides itself on forcing turnovers and getting to the quarterback because those are two things that you just can't rely on consistently.

That first drive.

Jonathan Brewer, thank you.

You are a man after my own heart.

Because you called power on third and 12.

I sent him, he's a Carolina fan too.

And he loved it.

Like... just power they the double team they smoked they smoked the d-line and that double t got killed the backer was completely confused he ran out to go cover pass just completely away from nate easy first down i was like this man called power on third and 12 jonathan brewer and here's the thing dude people have given brewer crap about his play calling and stuff brewers play calling that game like now that i could see because i i hadn't been able to watch any all 22 till this year his play calling that game, dude, he was calling great stuff in the run game.

And it really was just like, there was not really a call in the run game.

So I, uh, I, I, I'm, I'm a little, I'm a little wait and see on this Duke offense.

Like, I have faith in Jonathan Brewer, and I had faith coming into the year that it would be good after week one.

And I don't know how much the conditions affected that, like how wet the ball was.

I, I did not catch it live on, on TV.

And here's the only problem that Duke's going to have to face right now.

Because Jonathan Brewer, offensive coordinator, knows he has Dan Mahan, Mahan, freshman, local kid, as the backup.

And he's more, he's, he's, what's, he's a dual threat.

He threw one pass.

That tells you where his catches came from.

No, the reason I'm surprised about 10 for 25 is I came out of the game thinking if you can get 47 yards of offense out of CJ Campbell every game, I think Jonathan Brewer and Manny sign on the dotted line right now.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Listen, I mean, this guy's put together – he's had seven touchdowns, comes from Louisville, comes from a high-level program.

Jonathan Brewer speaks very highly of him.

He is going to be the 1B to Jeremiah Haisley, man, like all ACC, first team, preseason, all this stuff.

Listen, they're going to be a one-two punch.

And then there was some not so great stuff, but when you're playing on a bum knee, that's the way that's going to be.

And so like the only thing that I'm, my biggest question mark is, Is he fully recovered? Is he ready to go? Can he put the pressure on that right knee that he needs to put on that right knee? If he can, then he can put up some really good numbers in this Duke offense.

Jonathan Brewer has now proven two years in a row with two – like very different quarterbacks, that he absolutely knows what he's doing.

He can get production.

That's a way to be effective in this offense.

And I think that offensive coordinator Jonathan Brewer obviously is aware of these things and is going to try his best to set this offense up for success.

Also excited to see what Nate Shepard looks like in the passing game himself, right? Like as a target for Walker Eget, closer to the line of scrimmage, easier passes to complete, just get the ball in his hands and he can make things work.
