I may have known about him even before that because probably saw his name.

I grew up loving the Kinks and reading about the Kinks in books by Johnny Rogan and John Savage and John Mendelsohn, all the Johns.

Yeah.

and wanting to know more about the Kinks and certainly more about the certain eras that I was particularly excited about.

Can you write about it? Nah.

And some of the best music writing I've ever read are really good music journalists writing about Joy Division, where they can get their craft right up to the planet and kind of get in the orbit, like John Savage's recent book.

uh about joy division the searing light wow what a read it's so cool and you know he used to see them and he he was he was there and um it's just a fascinating band you know i listened to their bootlegs the live performances i i no expert on the band i just never heard any anything like that and so it'd be an extremely interesting example of what music is and what it can do So when you put it out into the world, put it out of the world into space, that might be an interesting idea.

But unfortunately for me, I have a lot of rules when it comes to listening to music.
