at some point up there with San Antonio for training camp before they were waived before the regular season but they will all be on the roster to begin the year trying to think oh Myles Barnstable was over there in the summer league so he'll be there he'll be back so yeah a pretty familiar roster even though none of these players technically played for the Austin Spurs besides Jaden Nunn last year but that was something Chris Kent mentioned was just You have to start getting acclimated, and one of the things that he was talking about was he kind of wants the thing that they hang their hat on to be playing harder than their opponents.

He's like, we'll talk about offense and defense and schemes, but at the end of the day, we want to play harder than our opponent, and we want to be more connected.

right there we also have to look into some of the players how they've been playing so far but most importantly one guy who's been getting the attention of pretty much everyone that is jacoby gillespie but not just the fans the coaches and the players as well and a note on carter bryant and he says what separates him is one specific aspect of his mentality and when i show you what he said he did over this summer and how he worked on his game he's going to be very very very scary for years to come we're going to dive into all of that and more coming up in this episode of spurs digest i'm very excited to get into the carter bryant stuff but we got to start out hot as we always do the spurs make another signing brian wright just can't help himself i other teams are like finally cluing up their roster the spurs are sending guys down but oh here we go kendall brown he signed this is like a few hours ago this person signed kendall brown to a training camp contract spurs roster back up to 19 players Reminder, you have 15 standard roster spots, you have three two-way spots, and then you have the other spots.

Now, considering the Spurs still have a standard spot open, we have 14 standard spots, three two-ways taken, that's 17, so we still have John Elmore, and now Kendall Brown added to the list of 19 players.

he's uh he played a bit in the summer league there you can see in july he played a few games the pacers back he has a little bit of nba experience the the shot is not really the thing that he's known for in transition he's quite solid pretty athletic kind of a 3 4 average 16 and 5 in the g league with 1.2 steals 0.5 blocks which i really don't mind and the spurs are now just again bolstering this unbelievable team in austin i genuinely cannot believe what i'm looking at right now Actually, I don't even think this includes Kendall Brown.

This does include John Elmore, who is here above David Jones-Garcia, but he really shouldn't be.

It doesn't really matter.

Once you're past Steph Castle, the two guard doesn't really matter too much anyway.

Bigger guy, of course, rebounder, rim runner, but also we can't forget Malik Williams has enjoyed to shoot the, enjoyed shooting the three ball a little bit in the past.

I'm don't mind this either take a look at this play style again this is from 2023-24 which is the last even semi sample that we have there's not much of a sample here but here's what the numbers show at the nba level um guy at the rim 37 putbacks but when we've seen him in the g league before the thing that malik williams does is again shoot the three ball a little bit pretty much every single spurs exhibit 10 deal has been a shooter john elmore is another very good example of that the balding the guy he is.

He's been pretty good, actually.
