Johns Creek

My heart opened to mirror hers.

And I've been asked to do, I'm going to talk about my nonprofit Project Smile coming up at the Johns Creek TEDx here in February, here in Atlanta, as I'm the mentor for that group.

I'm going to tell that Project Smile story.

But literally there's a woman out there.

And why do I tell that story? Because I was watching her, my heart opened.

Well, folks, people are watching you.

That's what I'm going to tell the Johns Creek audience.

I'm going to tell that story to remind people that people are watching

Yes.

I mean, I guess it's activated, geo-fenced in kind of versus it's not going up to Alpharetta or over to Johns Creek or even Sandy Springs if it's in the city of Roswell.

And that's a recent change.

And where we cover.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle's Crystal Edmondson has more.

It's called Medley, a 43-acre development in Johns Creek that aims to reflect a blend of people and experiences.

Mark Turow and his Turow Development Group are behind the project.

The first phase includes hundreds of apartments and townhomes and room for shops, offices, and restaurants.

Very kind of, in my mind, bougie.

There is now Johns Creek, it's even bougier.

And I moved a little bit further north, mind you.

But anyway, I get there and I wasn't used to things like neighborhoods that you couldn't, like there were no buses or anything, or neighborhoods that had gates and you got into the neighborhoods and kids, like I was a kid who got on my bike and drove around town.

In Fulton County.

So that's everything from Lake Windward, Kimball Bridge, Johns Creek, East Roswell, and the Sandy Springs Panhandle.

So everything east of 400 in Sandy Springs, north of Dunwoody.

Okay.

And in DeKalb, where we lived, it was all, you know, lots of incumbent Democrats, long term.

Same thing, Grant Park.

You know, it wasn't until we moved to Johns Creek that I was like, now I have a menu, right? I can run for this, I can run for that.

We can replace all these people.

Well, so I have lived in Georgia for over 30 years.

I have lived in, I live in Johns Creek and I have lived in this area for over 14 years.

And what brought me to Georgia, I came here in 1995, right before the Olympics.

And we know there was a big increase in population at that time.

And frankly, Georgia was a great place for young professionals.

And we loved it.

And we moved to Johns Creek because of the great school system.

And ever since college, I have been involved in community.

And Raffensperger's actually will be a constituent of mine.

He lives in Johns Creek.

And so Bridget Thorne had was essentially fired or not rehired as an as a poll worker for taking pictures of things during the elections process.

And she made an affidavit where she thought there was some fraud happening.

are?

Just in terms of the election, securing our elections, protecting our elections, keeping them free and fair, free from political interference and fair for all of our voters, is that resonating with people? Do they understand what shenanigans have been?

Yeah, I've heard from, we have a big Asian population in Johns Creek, and we've heard that these voters are just done with negative attacks.

Like, they don't even look at them anymore.

It does.

And Johns Creek.

I don't know that we really touched on them as much.

Right.

Johns Creek stands a better chance of being mentioned by census than the 680 people that live in Mountain Park.

Yeah.
