Drawing on your work in, as, you know, with your medical backgrounds and You know, are there sort of these standards in other industries that we could learn from within agriculture?

You or me? Well, you're very welcome to say something.

Well, you're the fresher doctor than I am, but I always think NICE is quite inspiring.

NICE is actually admired across the world, National Institute for Clinical Excellence, in terms of being a completely independent national adjudicator as to what is good and what is bad and what is value for money, perhaps most importantly as well.

And lots of other nations have looked at NICE and actually thought, for once, this is the UK doing something really well.

And I think there are lessons that we could learn from that.

And I guess various bodies could play a role in that, but AHDB probably are the most suitable.

But it may well be that it's so cheap to measure this sort of stuff that we will be able to do that in the future, or at least we'll have so much more data that the models will be a satisfactory opportunity to be able to talk about that on PACC.

And why did you come?

Uh, oh, so many reasons.

I'm a fake farmer.

I'm, I'm, I'm not trained as a farmer at all.

So I s- I suppose one of the reasons I came along was to try and learn, um, when I didn't have a clue, and we didn't know what regen was then at all.

Uh, and we had lots of challenges on the farm.

We're heavy land, we had quite a lot of black grass problems.

[laughs]

And why did you come?

Uh, so many reasons.

[laughs] And, um, you joke about heat pumps, but overall, what is your, what is your ultimate goal? What are you trying to achieve here?

It fits with the, you know, the classic farming desire to leave the place in a better state than, than you took it over in.

Um, we have a mission statement, a bit cheesy, I, I know, a bit corporate maybe, but I want everyone who works here to, to have a good understanding of, of why it's worth getting up when the alarm goes off in the morning.

And our mission statement is leaving a legacy to be proud of.

I want anyone who has anything to do with our business to be able to imagine taking a grandchild around at some point in their lives and pointing to the things that have happened in their watch and being able to do that with real pride.

And sustainability is, is great, but it's not actually an end in itself.

You have to have a reason to be sustainable, and I, I think that that reason for us is, is being able to leave something behind that we're proud of.

Royal recognition then, Johnny, but do you think the award will have any wider benefit? Will it unlock any doors for your farm business, do you think?
