Johnny Tremain

It was the eighth book in the Little House series.

It was a Newbery Honor book in 1944.

The winner that year, some of us may have read, is Johnny Tremaine by Esther Forbes.

I think I read that in either middle or high school and I personally did not care for it.

I know it's a well-written book, but I'm an extremely picky reader and it didn't take with me.

That becomes memorable as far as being able to, um...

I'm remembering back to one of my children was t- tasked one year in the Calvert curriculum you have to read Johnny Tremain.

Yep.

And nothing was going to do but he wanted to understand what a hoe cake tasted like.
