I think a good group of villains or a good bad guy, you can't help but root for them.

Some heels are just so cool that you're like, oh gosh, they're awesome.

You got Biff from Back in the Future, Johnny Lawrence from Karate Kid, animated cartoons.

You have Skeletor, Megatron, Cobra Commander, Shredder.

It doesn't look like it's impossible.

It's one of my least favorite things, though, in the history of film is Johnny Lawrence wants to ruin Daniel LaRusso's life for an hour and 40 minutes, right? All he wants is to bully him, hurt him, embarrass him, bankrupt him.

He doesn't care.

It's the way they came into the story through Johnny's eyes is broken, picked them up 30 years later.

And so then the next thing we're on Broadway where, you know, it's all of a sudden it's for a global audience, but we already had our, our style and our, and the way the show was already baked.

So, um, they just let us run, roll with it.

And, uh, yeah and crazy i mean who would have ever imagined when i was 18 years old auditioning for this movie that it would just be my life you know in so many ways and um to go in and do johnny lawrence and play him as a grown-up and as a failed person who's trying to you know overcome his obstacles and fall forward and um finds this boy becomes a mentor father figure finds love through this woman um makes balance with daniel larusso whoever saw that happening working with ralph was i mean we we're pinching ourselves every day and um and just loved it and then the fans have just been unbelievable unbelievable so it's been a real lightning in a bottle times two you know and like you said you know about about you know me and ralph and the casting john avildsen who originally cast and directed karate kid one he just picked He just picked this kind of chemistry between all these actors that was just so dead on that it works even now.

And when all the OG cast came back, Elizabeth Shue and Tamlin Tomita and Rob Garrison and Ron Thomas and Tony O'Dell and Thomas Ian Griffin and Sean Kanan and all the Cobra Kai Karate Kid alums, it just fit like a glove, man.
