Johnny Kelly

October Rust turned 30 this year, and it turns out there's a song from those sessions that nobody's ever heard.

Johnny Kelly found it in the spring, a finished track on a cassette in a Brooklyn garage, the one that didn't make the record back in 1996.

What nobody knew until yesterday was what the name of the song is.

I sat down with Kenny Hickey for the Loaded Radio podcast, and he told me the song is called Prometheus, and he told me something else.

So

for anybody that's not familiar, we're talking about Johnny Kelly on drums from Typo Negative and Danzig and a handful of other bands.

And then Alex Grossi on guitar, just bringing people up to date on the current choir riot

line.

Ari, ironically fitting this part of the story, Ari, the singer for Adler, which I saw on the Monsters of Rock Cruise earlier this year, standing next to Johnny Kelly, and Alex, ironically, was filling in on guitar because they were missing a guitar.

Adler, one of the guitar players, couldn't make it or something.

The track is Graves in the Sky from the upcoming album, The Interpretation of Nightmares.

Yeah, that album comes out November the 13th.

Before that, a happy 25th to Entomb's Morningstar.

He will not be singing.

But Rudy Sarzo is in the band, and Johnny Kelly from Typo Negative and Silver Tomb Fame is on drums.

Wow.

Yeah, so it should be a good time.
