Adam Arkin as Will Brennan, the teacher at the school where Jamie Lee Curtis works.

They have a little, you know, romance going.

Halloween H20, who is your favorite child of Laurie Strode? Jamie Lloyd from Cult of Thorn Timeline, Halloween 4, 5, and 6.

Second one, John Tate from Halloween H20, or Karen from the David Gordon Green trilogy, Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills?

Hmm.

Hmm.

What's unfortunate is we only so far from our watches, we only get one movie with John Tate.

I think that I think that that's it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I do think Judy Greer was an excellent choice to play the daughter.

It's also just very hard for Halloween fans who knew John Tate as Laurie's son to have this whole other parallel universe.

It's kind of jarring and shocking.

So I give myself grace with how I experienced Halloween 2018 back in the day because it is what it is.

I've always been curious about that.

There's a particular script where John Tate, the glorious son from Halloween H2O would have returned after resurrection.

I thought that would have been cool.

it would have been tough to get Josh Hartnett to come back.

That was when his career was blowing up, but that would have been cool to see the resurrection story continue with John Tate coming back.

And then Busta Rhymes was under contract for another film.

You know, that would have been fun.

It's so interesting how these relationships are so different because I assumed that they would be quite similar, you know, leading up to scream seven.

I thought that we would see Tatum as a John Tate replica in some respects.

And that's so not the case.

Uh, so I would love to dig into that dynamic, like John versus Tatum at some point in the future.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is killed in this cold open by Michael, and technically some other stuff happens during this cold open.

The next scene that we get after the title cards is the introduction to Laurie Strode, also known as Carrie Tate in this movie, and her son, who is played by Josh Hartnett, John Tate.

Laurie is established as having some visions, bad dreams, PTSD from her encounter with Michael Myers 20 years ago.

And she also has a 17-year-old son named John, played by Josh Hartnett.

Overall, I think they did a pretty darn good job with the exposition in this movie.

Moving on to the bad for the writing, we've got one, two, three bads and a couple of examples.

So first of all, Josh Hartnett's lines for John Tate do not feel like those of a 17-year-old.

I don't think they were written...

... like these, I'll have fun with these characters.

I'm gonna go H2O timeline too because I love Loomis, and Halloween II is my favorite Loomis, and I think that John Tate is one of my favorite characters on Laurie Strode in H2O, so I'm also gonna do that.

But Jamie Lloyd is fighting in the Thorn-

Yeah.

Yeah.

And then what you said, it would have brought back John Tate from H2O, seeking revenge because he murdered Laurie in Resurrection.

tons of stuff there was another one that was uh never produced which was called asylum and missing years which would have tied the events of like what michael and loomis were doing during season of the witch and they were going through it all and then they're talking about

beforehand that doesn't make sense because halloween is a movie in threes yeah
