book did they finish like the series this year or something though I don't know Yeah, because Tyler is reading The Old Man's War by John Scalzi.

He likes it so far.

I might have mentioned it in one of the episodes that we recorded, but I wanted to get into a new fantasy series because I'd been doing a lot of like sci-fi space opera stuff, Scalzi, the Bobbyverse stuff, Project Hail Mary and weird stuff.

And I thought, you know what, I'm going to go back and do some fantasy.

kind of fantasy do i want well i want something maybe with like a i don't know there's something about that sort of snarky main character that i like and i believe when i was looking at options for books i was like it'd be nice to find something that i liked the way i liked the name of the wind the first book yeah that had that kind of character in it but it was a more complete series And in doing my research at the time, The Lies of Locke Lamora, which is book one of the Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch, came up.

Or you have to tell us in chapter one, why are the characters in the prologue In the prologue.

Why are they there?

The other type of prologue and one that I've recently enjoyed is the prologue from the first book of the Interdependency series that Scalzi wrote.

Because it's a prologue that serves a different purpose.

But anyway, yeah, obviously hope the people that have lost out that, very messy get their money but maybe unlikely at this stage but moving on to another story which this isn't so much I guess it's not from the publishing headlines but it was something I saw several big authors talking about following there's just been Worldcon in LA and John Scalzi was posting about it and so were some other authors saying that there was And then Micaiah, or Micaiah, sorry if I've got that name wrong.
