Singers Nick Kershaw and Chensney Hawkes will entertain crowds at an event celebrating the Harvest Festival in Bury St Edmunds.

aiming to merge business agriculture music and philanthropy the great british harvest festival will return to st edmundsbury cathedral on september twenty sixth Attendees can expect an evening of performance and special guests including the National Youth Choir, the Orchestra of the Royal College of Music, Debbie Wiseman, Sir John Rutter, Dame Evelyn Glenny and Grace Davidson.

Also included in the line-up are Chensy Hawkes who perform the one and only and Nick Kershaw known for a range of hits.

Patrick Cooper, director at Pigeon, which organised the event, said, The Great British Harvest Festival is a celebration of everything that makes our rural communities so special.

Yes.

I mean, the thread is the Heiliger Geist, the Holy Spirit of, uh, of Christian music, and that threads through from Tallis through to, to John Rutter, and even in, uh, Vaughan Williams, a string piece.

You know, that was written for a British cathedral acoustic.

Mm.

To write simple music is very hard.

I mean, John Rutter is a good example, you know, of simple music beautifully written.

People make fun of it.

It is, you know, well, not fun of it, but, you know, saying, well, it's very simplistic.

It's very beautiful.

And that's a lovely piece.

Now, you could say that's like John Rutter, but it isn't.

It's his style.

So in some ways we've got a ludicrous number of people all giving their, their time for free and coming along and d- and doing the concert.

So yeah, we have, uh, Debbie Wiseman, um, John Rutter, John Rutter, and Evelyn Glennie, and James Taylor Quartet, all sorts of, uh, amazing people.

Tim Garland, Phil Sheppard, Nick Kershaw, Chesney Hawkes, um, and actually also the Orchestra of the Royal College of Music and the National Youth Choir.

Well, I mean, I hope [laughs]...

I mean, it's gonna be quite an, quite an alarming evening because of course our first night is our last night, and no real sort of dress rehearsal, as it were.

But I hope what they'll see is a variety, um, uh, uh, like a sort of... almost like an old varie- I mean, you, you're ranging from Sir John Rutter, very classical, all the way through to, you know, the James Taylor Quartet kind of acid jazz.

So it's nothing if not variety.
