John Records Landecker

Good evening, everyone.

John Hanson in for Mr. John Landecker.

He had a planned day off.

He's all good.

Dave? Yeah, I'm going to go with the Steelers as well.

I think Tampa Bay with an unsettled situation at quarterback.

I'm going to pick the Bucs because John Landecker needs wins against you guys.

You're zigging and zagging.

I don't know.

Hi, John Landecker.

I thought I'd drop by for a while here at 720 WGN and get a little spooky.

Combining a couple of things.

Back to creepy music in the evening.

The month of Halloween.

John Landecker in 19 minutes after 9 o'clock.

So we're getting a little spooky tonight with criminals who are dead, yet they have ghosts or, I don't know, they're somehow haunting crime scenes.

It's our way of coping with bad things that happened to us in the past.

You're gonna say that you think Chicago radio is better today than it was 30 years ago when you had the big names, like a John "Records" Landecker, for example, and some of the other, uh, big stars in Chicago radio.

Well, first of all, I don't know-

You knew some of them.

Whitford's wife, Chicago native Amy Landecker, was at his side for the ceremony.

She is the daughter of local radio personality John Records Landecker.

Whitford is about to make his return to Broadway in a revival of A Few Good Men.

National Pumpkin Spice Day today, a sure sign of autumn.

But I used to listen to WLS out of Chicago.

There was a DJ there by the name of John Landecker, and he had a very kind of spontaneous current hit radio program, but with a lot of talk peppered in too.

And I gravitated to that, but I just liked the idea of hearing something from far away.

You know, this is before internet streaming.

I

may have a head full of sports, according to John Landecker.

I've just got numbers running through my head.

Yeah.
