John Paul White

You talked about taking the time, really processing the next album, the songs that go on it.

Uh, Old History with John Paul White.

Uh, exciting about this one, too.

At the same time, uh, like I mentioned-

So funny enough, uh, during COVID, when we were all stuck at home, um, I started doing the Zoom co-write thing.

And John Paul, I, I was a huge, huge John Paul White fan.

I mean, I love ...

We've talked to Tasha Hill, Debbie Wilson with Muscle Shoals Sound, Rodney Hall with Fame.

And coming up, a little teaser, we've got an episode with John Paul White, who's connected to the Shoals, but he was also part of the very first show at the Orion.

So how do you see Huntsville and the Shoals fitting together for a larger North Alabama music story?

It's a, you know, I mean, I think it's just that where it's like, you know, you have the artists like John Paul White, who kicked off the Orion.

It's funny, he actually also just kicked off the rebrand of, you know, Danny Davis from the legendary Tangle String Studios retired.

And then he kind of did a pivot and then like relaunched the Tangle String Syndicate.

And he's starting to like curate shows around town.

And John Paul White was retired.

Totally.

One, Alison Krauss saying, you know, John Paul White is, you know, so many, so many people came down for this funeral.

And so it's crazy because with the Muscle Shoals documentary, they didn't capture that part of his story because it hadn't happened yet.

But I love to be able to share that, that he is in heaven with Jesus and, and, It's just such a beautiful picture to me that it's never too late.

That's Joy Williams and John Paul White, who were huge for a while, and then they fell out.

And they no longer played, and after that no longer played and sang together and wrote together.

But they were pretty special at the time.
