the, the most sexy man I ever, ever met, among many, was, people probably don't know him.

He was call- he's dead now, John Mortimer, the English playwright, and he wrote Rumpole of the Bailey.

He was a judge himself.

And he was short, and he looked a bit like a toad, and he had a limp.

Oh.

And a, and a fine mind and a wit.

There's John Mortimer.

There he is.

He never misses.

Secondly, John Mortimer, because anybody attempting to write fiction about the criminal bar does so in the shadow of Rumpel, and the aplomb with which he brought an archaic, closed-off and widely misunderstood profession to a mass audience is something that hacks like me can only aspire to.

Thirdly, John Grisham, for the simple reason that had it not been for me devouring my mum's Grishams as a teenager, I may never have become a criminal lawyer in the first place.

A Time to Kill remains one of my all-time favourites.

However, it was never built and remained empty for 150 years until 1998.

During this time, Sir John Mortimer took the decision to the public, and it was decided that the statues rotate out periodically.

This allowed for new artists and work to be displayed in the iconic square.
