that he didn't necessarily think that they would it's not like he's written a song and then he records it I think you know Keir Stewart sort of takes stuff and samples and then adds a bit of what Vinnie's given him and sort of builds up the records and constructs them and perhaps what the outcome is is not what how the original was I suspect that's how the new album works anyway you know it's got some stuff that Riley's recorded and he sort of makes something of it but because he's a friend of Riley because he's played live with Riley he gets it right you know Interestingly enough, apart from Bruce Mitchell, who's a fantastically great jazz drummer who's played fairly consistently with him, certainly when I saw him on all three occasions that Mitchell was on drums, he's worked with John Metcalfe.
