I've been involved myself in a serious way and at different levels in an attempt to build and develop a programme since then that responded to those circumstances.

Probably my most successful efforts were in 2017, with the economic programme presented by Jeremy Corbyn and Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell.

That was built around some relatively modest tax rises on the somewhat rich, and exploiting what, at the time, were the lowest borrowing costs in human history.

I would argue, of course, that that probably isn't the case.

Obviously, with Labour Party conference being a very, very busy time, a lot of them people may just nip in and nip out.
