A couple of, uh, contacts in the world of law have sent me the judgment and the media summary which [laughs] I found easier to read although I did read the full judgment as well of a Supreme Court of Appeal, um, judgment which upheld a decision by the Gauteng High Court that Mr. William Hendrik Ackermann had been guilty of hate speech.

Um, y- I don't think it's too necessary to go too deeply into the background, but essentially in a one-on-one conversation face to face and in another conversation via WhatsApp and then in a third conversation in, um, on the telephone, he talked about the K's running this country just effing it up as they've done in the rest of Africa after today, "I might be seen as racist, but I will man alone kill every K that crosses my path, so God help me." And then the third one was, "My K's know their place." And I mean, it seems to me perfectly obvious that this is hate speech.

Michela HullGUEST

Well, John, it might not be so much about the, the definition of hate speech itself, as you've correctly stated.
