The latest came in on Friday from, it was leaked at the Defense Department last week, conveyed to Congress that the cost to date had been, and the cost in September 3rd, to be more precise, $43.6 billion.

And there's another $1.5 billion for fuel costs that for some reason was not included in the official total, but was in a footnote.

The Democrats say should be a part of the total.
