Our musical guests for our spring Get Lit finale were John Linnell and John Flansburgh, also known as They Might Be Giants.

This year is the 40th anniversary of the band's debut album.

Since forming in Brooklyn in the 1980s, they have just released their 24th album called The World Is to Dig.

I'm a music writer and a Launch Left collaborator, and this episode was, uh, amazing to do.

I get to chat with John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants, a band I've really, really respected for many years.

Their latest album, their 24th album, The World Is To Dig, is just as good as, uh, all the rest.

Uh, they consistently put out amazing records, so it was a privilege talking with John Flansburgh, and we talk about not only his group, but some of the music he's loved over the years.
