I think I would go Egan if I had to.

love the contempt with which you say these professional footballers.
R
44:43Ross HallsHOST
Defensively, they're going to be hard to break down.
R
44:46Ross HallsHOST
So when I was speaking to a Hull City fan earlier and he was just sort of saying that, Yeah, it's just been surprising to see even them, especially, as AJ said, for them to still play a lot of their team who got them promoted in the first place.
R
45:01Ross HallsHOST
Players like John Egan and like Louis Coyle, who, of course, is like a whole city lad, which I'm sure is what a dream come true for him.
R
45:08Ross HallsHOST
Boyhood player and coming through the ranks and now playing in the Premier League.

JL Pedro obviously with zero.
H
2:38HarryHOST
Vardy with one and John Egan with four.
H
2:41HarryHOST
And I did think about Egan and Calafiore, but going into the weekend, that was never going to be...
H
2:47HarryHOST
Yeah, I was never picking Egan over him, but slightly annoying still when you've worked out what's happened and then you're like, I could have been over the safety score and really green-arrowed.

N
15:13NickHOST
He wasn't winning promotions and having that feeling of being a Sheffield United legend or anything like that, like a Chris Basham or a John Egan or a Billy Sharp or a Didzey.
N
15:26NickHOST
He didn't have any of that.
N

So two years at Sheffield United, I can see why...
FPL GW9: Best Joao Pedro Replacements?

Both Liverpool centre-backs, Van Dijk and Xhaka.
M

Coyote who I mentioned John Egan again cheap defender getting it if Bobby Thomas is going to be out for a wee while Egan probably becomes the best DEFCON 4 million option although Leif Davis is still a good attacking defensive option there as well and Tarkowski no clean sheet but he got DEFCON again midfielders Mamadou Sangare finally gets a start after a few weeks on the bench, and he turns up and gets 23 DEFCON.
M
19:05Mark McGettiganHOST
If this guy played every week, he would be in every FPL team, but unfortunately that is not the case, and obviously it was just due to suspensions that he was in there.
M

Coleman and all that sort of stuff too there's a reason why Jimmy Dunne is always in the squads there is a reason and he's a good footballer he's a decent footballer good defender very good championship defender that's what he is and could he make a step up maybe he's no nonsense he's a bit of John Egan do you know what I mean do you know what I mean when John Egan goes up to the Premier League and he doesn't look out of place because he's a proper defender and that's what Jimmy Dunne is and that's why the QPR fans love him so much and he does a lot of work actually as well around the community in London and all that sort of stuff as well so he's a lot of attachment there but there's a reason that he's in the squads and it's because he's a good personality and he's a good body to have around the place and when he's not playing that many minutes he's still someone who's in there and I say not that many minutes he's always playing minutes for QPR but he's been versatile enough for them as well a little bit at right back he's a lot better at centre half I think we've seen that with Ireland as well we came on right wing back I think in the game over in Czechia which It's a little bit bizarre and I think maybe if it hadn't been a penalty shootout, the loss of that game, that might have been a decision made by him or Algrimson that would have got a lot more question than maybe it did.
M
27:20Matthew BrennanPANELIST
But it's great to see him doing well.
M
27:22Matthew BrennanPANELIST
And as you say, he's a no-nonsense defender and he's also very good in the air.

it wouldn't have been overturned if he'd have given that but the interesting one was Tiago absolutely thundered into I think it was John Egan and I winced and I waited for the yellow card and I think it could and should have been a yellow card and certainly it was certainly a Tiago yellow but nothing happened.
G
22:17Greville WatermanGUEST
He gave them the free kick and no yellow card for Tiago.
G
22:22Greville WatermanGUEST
And I, and I thought, you know, had it been Pawson or Brooks or, Um, we'd have had a sending off Tiago would have been booked and they'd have had at least two penalties.
