Bishop Simon Brute was one of the founders.

We say there's three founders of the Mount, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Simon Brute, and John Dubois.

John Dubois left here to eventually become the Archbishop of New York.

New York has received at least two, maybe three archbishops from the Mount, including the very first Cardinal of the United States.

But anyway, we're here in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains or the Blue Ridge Mountains in Maryland.

And in 1805 was when this all started at the top of the hill where John Dubois started this grotto to Our Lady.

And this is known as Mary's Mountain.
