John HaywardHOST
31:26
I mean, there's always that, that kind of thing going on.
John HaywardHOST
31:29
But over at The Federalist today, John Daniel Davidson has a really nice piece that hits the essence of what this about.
John HaywardHOST
31:36
And his, his thesis is that in France and the UK for right now, and maybe coming soon, uh, to a town near you, what this is all about is multiculturalism leading inevitably to authoritarianism.
John HaywardHOST
31:50
And in this post, he describes a bit of what's happening right now, and he points out that in France, it's simply no secret or even debatable that these riots are being manipulated by political parties.
John HaywardHOST
32:30
And the same thing is gonna happen in England with their, uh, multicultural unrest and in Germany.
John HaywardHOST
32:35
If this gets started in Germany, because the anti-migrant party is picking up steam over in Germany, and the plans are already being laid for massive unrest in the streets to take the wind out of their sails, and it'll be the same story.
John HaywardHOST
32:48
And what John Daniel Davidson points out is that this anarchy or chaos in the streets is really pretty much like anarchy always is.
John HaywardHOST
32:57
It's always a prelude to authoritarianism.

You can't be proud of something you can't describe, and you can't defend it, and you sure as heck can't hand it down to your kids because nobody ever handed it to you.

So who's offering to fill that gap? On my side of the aisle, there's an answer getting a lot of attention right now, and it comes from The Federalist, which ran a piece on September eighteenth by its senior editor, John Daniel Davidson, under the headline, "What is an American? The Civic Nationalists Have No Idea." His argument is that America as a creed, a set of principles anyone can sign up for, is empty, and that being an American takes more than agreeing with some ideas, and in his words, certainly more than just some paperwork.
Chad LawHOST
16:19
And on that line, he's right.
Chad LawHOST
16:21
I'd underline it.
