And yes, the, we'll call him tech journalist and provocateur, Robert X. Cringely passed his real name was mark stevens he passed away earlier this month we will link out to the obituary as well as his recent blogging work uh you probably best remember him for his work on triumph of the nerds which was a hallmark video from the early internet era but he you know wrote tons and tons and tons of articles for lots and lots and lots of different publications uh both under the the pseudonym that he lost control of and then regained control of as well as other names so If you're unfamiliar with his work, good time to dive into there.

Less caustic than John Dvorak, who I also memorialized earlier this year, but definitely edgy in his own way.
ChrisHOST

Sensi Soccer, which is according to many the definitive 16-bit football game, is now on the C64.
ChrisHOST
34:04
It's surprisingly fast.
Mike MatthewsHOST
22:30
That's right.
Mike MatthewsHOST

The late, great John C. Dvorak there.
Mike MatthewsHOST

Oh, he said so.
Mike MatthewsHOST

I love that guy.
Adam CurryHOST
53:40
Oh, yeah.
Adam CurryHOST
53:41
We need to resurrect the Dvorak for that.
Dave JonesHOST
53:48
He is Raven.
Dave JonesHOST
53:49
Give it up.
ChrisHOST

There was actually a big...
ChrisHOST

Dvorak and Curry got all mad.
ChrisHOST
1:44
Luckily, somebody was in the chat during the live show to correct them.
ChrisHOST

But they're like, why is he...

I was just trimming, but I think I could probably get I should get back into it now that you're back here and reminding me that you're on there.

And one of my big podcasts that I listen to, the No Agenda show is ending because John C. Dvorak, who lived up the highway from you, died.
AbHOST
10:14
So great way to end the podcast, I suppose.
Joe AtwillGUEST
10:18
Yeah.
AbHOST
10:18
So did you know John, by the

AbHOST

John C. Dvorak? No.
AbHOST

Because he was the cranky computer guy.

Steven SirskiHOST

I said that people, if they want to listen a little bit more about this and sort of hear what I'm talking about in terms of what he's talking about, Wednesday's episode of We Get to Do This, which is his godly Christian podcast, and he has a co-host for that one.
Steven SirskiHOST
37:15
Thursday is the No Agenda show, which he used to do with John C. Dvorak, but John C. Dvorak sadly passed away this year.
Steven SirskiHOST
37:21
That made him rethink his sort of path, not just whether or not he was going to stay on the show, but what he should be doing with his time if he doesn't stay on the show.
Steven SirskiHOST
37:34
And then Friday, he has another podcast called Podcasting 2.0, where they talk about the different tools and techniques of podcasting and how they're sort of building the future for podcasting itself.
Steven SirskiHOST
42:23
I kind of go like, what's going on here? Why? And then you kind of realize that the Pope right now, that is the Pope of Rome, is American.
Steven SirskiHOST
42:35
Oh, so do the Christians, the Catholics, the God-fearing people of the United States, do they now feel a little bit more safe to voice their religiosity, their faith, rather than maybe cower behind the DEI, the diversity, equity, and inclusion type of umbrella that has blanketed so much of the mainstream media, mainstream talk so much over the last 15 years, 10, 15 years.
Steven SirskiHOST
43:11
So it's, I guess this, if Adam Curry took, and he talks about how the death of John C. Dvorak really did rattle him.
Steven SirskiHOST
43:21
And I agree with that.
Brian GrayHOST
5:54
Yeah.
Brian GrayHOST

I w- that is part of what I wanted to talk about today, and, you know, kind of tangential But I listen to a podcast called No Agenda, and it's hosted by two guys, uh, John Dvorak and Adam Curry.
Brian GrayHOST
6:12
And Adam Curry, he's been on the Tom Wood show a few times, but he's, uh, credited by a lot of people with inventing the podcast.
Brian GrayHOST
6:22
They call him the Podfather.
Brian GrayHOST
6:25
And, uh, he and John Dvorak, John Dvorak have been doing No Agenda for nineteen years.
Brian GrayHOST
6:32
This month they'll have their nineteenth anniversary, so a very long-running and successful podcast.
Brian GrayHOST
6:39
Well, back in, I think it was around April or so, John had a mild heart attack and had to have, uh, double bypass surgery and, uh, you know, he was out for a couple weeks, then he came back to the show, and then about six weeks ago, he died.
