John Brown

When the message goes out that, hey, we're open to having a Brisbane team, a whole host of private owners emerge as being potential owners of a Brisbane team.

So one of them is a guy called John Brown.

Now, he was a well-known promoter of tennis tournaments.

He had a very solid background in sport, very connected, went to school with Alan Schwab, who was the 2IC at the VFL at the time.

Now, within 24 hours, he was in Melbourne having dinner with Graham Richmond, the famous Richmond power broker, who became his man on the ground in Melbourne.

They were at Nicabella's hotel within 24 hours plotting how we were going to do this.

So this is, yes, this guy John Brown was sort of, he was working behind the scenes from the start.

He talks to North Melbourne.
