... for all these events that you're doing in three weeks?
7:49
Yeah, I mean, I think it started quite early with me and my grandad, which is my coach.
7:54
And we kind of had a plan where we saw that it was gonna be easier for me to kind of start with sprint and do well there before we kind of change a little bit towards distance skiing.
8:06
So that was kind of like the goal.
8:07
And then over years, I mean, I'm training for both disciplines, but for me now, I, I don't spend that much time doing sprints.
8:16
The majority of my training is kind of connected to distance skiing.
8:20
And then I have like a couple of sessions every two to three weeks where I kind of like specifically kind of target the, the sprints.

6 MINS LATER

14:04
And so does he do the data for you and you just don't care about what it is? Or it, you've had all of his influence for so long that you kind of intrinsically, you kinda know what it is?
20:34
Mm-hmm.
20:34
Okay, okay, we took off the one ski.
20:36
It was with one pole.
20:37
It was without poles.
20:39
It was, like, so many different ways of doing that kind of relay, and then you got points based on how, how you perform on that relay.
20:50
And, uh, at the end of the season when, when we were done, we kind of had, like, a pursuit where we were starting based on how many points you had, uh, collected over the last year.
21:03
And then you can see, like, okay, people that are, that have been, um, at many practices, they had an, had an advantage on the, on the pursuit.

44 MINS LATER

65:02
Mm-hmm
32:08
And for everybody at home, Norwegian method is, I believe it's what, four minutes super hard, then three minutes, four minutes rest.
32:15
Yeah, three minutes rest, and then you do that four times.
32:18
And I mean, it's quick, and it's an efficient session.
32:22
I think it has a bigger impact if your starting point is more towards normal, I would say, and a little bit under normal, but for athletes like myself, I mean, four by four has kind of been like a standard, and then you have, everything is built out of that, I would say so.
32:46
So now I basically don't do four by four anymore because I need I need a bigger volume, you know, but it's still I can still do four minutes, but I probably do six, seven of them, you know, and those are And I normally don't do full speed from the first start.
33:04
I do maybe a little bit more control on the two, three first ones.
33:07
And then I kind of try to...

12 MINS LATER

45:04
I mean, are you naturally patient? I
5:00
So it was what, orange ball in the snow after school, that kind of thing with your friends, was it?
5:05
Absolutely.
5:05
So we were playing all the time.
5:10
So I think it kind of started when my mom always told me.
5:13
So in the weekends, we went to the soccer field around 11 in the morning.
5:20
And I think that was a little bit late because that was when all my friends were waking up and we went there.
5:25
So my mom tricked me to say that if I'm going to become a good soccer player, I need to...
10:01
Are you picking up anything there, Johannes? Yeah,
6:06
How tough has it been to keep going throughout?
6:09
I think the biggest challenge is that you don't have time to spend time with your family and to really kind of market at some point.
6:20
It's like when you do big things, you always want to have someone to share it with and you want to have either a nice dinner or whatever, but you haven't been able to do those things.
6:31
You just put your gold medals on the... side table of the bed and then you just kind of start preparing yourself mentally for what's coming so I feel like it's going to be good to when we wrap up this Olympics and you finally have time to reflect on what has happened and also what you have accomplished I think that's kind of it's the beauty of the sport, but it's also the challenge of having like six races in a row where, uh, it's always the next one, you know.
7:13
Did you believe you could also do it at the Olympics?
7:16
I mean, I thought it was going to be harder, you know, it's, uh, it's always hard to replicate something you have done.
7:22
And, uh, everyone after last year everyone wants to beat me and it's kind of like something you think about but on the other hand I've just tried to focus on the things that I can do something about you know I've been training well been in altitude and tried to do all the preparations that I feel like I need to to be able to be at my best here in the Olympics and the good part about Olympics is that it's a little bit more time in between each race compared to what it is in the world champs but on the other hand it's a little bit bigger you know it's way more media there is longer to go back and forth to the stadium.
7:55
Everything takes a little bit longer time.
