Joey Potter

Right? Like, you have.

Pacey and Andy, Jen and Dawson, Jack and Joey, pretty much, like, for the whole thing.

Which does end up playing into, like, next... um even chris and abby to a degree um which does end up playing into the next episode um and this is this gets a beat to be continued

yeah which i was so surprised about yeah i know it's weird just like

Well, and it's just really annoying because then Dawson's like, yeah, but like, do you think this is going to be like a good movie? And you're like, yeah, sure.

Whatever.

Well, because then like Pacey says something about how like he made the Joey character a little too angry, even for Joey.

And this is the first time in the episode that Dawson's like, no, it's not about that.

You make yourself vulnerable and you get shot down.

So Joey apologizes and she says that she really doesn't have any money and she just wants to get home.

He then volunteers to walk her home and she refuses.

He warns her to be careful because the next person she encounters might not be as nice as he is.

So then we get a special rendition of the theme song that is dark and ominous.

It's almost like a night sky with clouds moving, and it matches the darker tone of this episode.

When we come back from the theme song, the man pulls Joey into an alcove, and he's brandishing the gun.

And she says she doesn't have any money, but he knows better because he saw her come from the ATM.

So they're either restricted to one location or they're restricted to following one character or one storyline.

So a great example, if we're going to stick with Dawson's Creek, is the Kmart episode of Dawson's Creek where Joey and Pacey get trapped in a Kmart overnight.

in this department store.

They have to spend the night and they're locked in.

Creek was good.

Joey was my favorite.

Dawson's Creek was good.

And Joey was amazing.

And James Van Der Beek also passed away.

Dang it.

Do it.

So episode 514, Guerrilla Filmmaking, opens in Joey and Audrey's dorm room.

Audrey and Oliver are filming a scene for his movie.

As we know from last episode, Dawson is directing the film, and it looks like Jen is producing and Pacey is the boom mic operator.

After the theme song, we go to Professor Wilder's class, and he's talking about conflict and how that's what makes the best stories.

And the best conflicts are when your head is at war with your heart, when passions are at war with your ideals.

And he asks the class for an example, and Joey says she has one.

It's about a boy, but the class ends, and there, she's interrupted before she can go any further.

[laughs]

But also, this is a bit of a random reference, but there's an episode of Dawson's Creek where Joey and Pacey-

Ah

... are trapped in a Kmart.
