yeah and that'll be and that's good you can just be a football fan for the period where are you sitting are you in with the mob
Robert BorthwickGUEST
5:59
I'm in the away end mate in the away end which is good because I think there's probably two thirds of the Hearts fans that are going are in the home end and then there's the 1000 lucky souls who had enough points to be in the away end so I in the away end all my mates literally everyone I'm going with I think are in the home end so I don't really care during the game it'll be absolutely fine and you know I was just thinking when I mentioned that Lee Phil were you know all the lads Joel will be there as well right it'll be good it'll be good mate it's the one time it's the one time I wish Wallace Mercer's dream had come true Tony because then we could all go on European trips together I wonder how long it would have
Tony AndersonHOST
6:43
taken me how long it would have taken me to just start doing that put my pettiness aside and just, like, maybe I do just want to keep going to the football in Edinburgh.
Tony AndersonHOST
6:53
Because being a Spartans fan, say what you like, tell Fern and Sean, they can tell me, like, it's shit.

Tony AndersonHOST

I mean, one last one before we move on to a different game.
Tony AndersonHOST
15:24
Corgiota, just to keep on the theme of players that Derek McInnes, so he bemoaned, like, hearts were like the walking wounded, but there was just a batch of players he just wouldn't use, regardless of situation.
Tony AndersonHOST
15:40
And similar, like, I mean, we spoke about on A View from the Terrace when I was on it with Joel.
Tony AndersonHOST
15:45
about that if Hearts had went and got Joshua Paik in January we'd probably be sitting here saying that they won the league but Kujota was there and from what I've heard he played really well last night and again Kujota's not perfect but over the season you're seeing that he's absolutely a handy member of the squad good enough to be in the Hearts squad impacts games at different points obviously he's not a world beater he goes up and down but there was just no reason for him to be sort of completely ostracised last season
Ross WebberHOST
19:24
And Reading can be got at in that back post area.
Ross WebberHOST
19:26
And that's a double-sized problem because Joel Pereira is especially weak going to his left.
Ross WebberHOST
19:31
So in an area where Joel Pereira isn't great...
Ross WebberHOST
19:34
Reading aren't the best at covering that area, too.
Ross WebberHOST
19:36
And so there is this target you can hit, which is, I think, exactly what Barnsley did.

19 MINS LATER

Ross WebberHOST

That momentary lapse of concentration stuff that Jacob Brown tends to cause is just a bit more potent later in the game.
Ross WebberHOST
38:21
I don't think it is earlier.
Ross WebberHOST
38:23
Can we really quick, going back to John's other point in his interview, in his email there, he talks about Joel Pereira and his palm out for the first goal.

reason.
Matt LansleyHOST
16:41
Can I just say something on this? Please, Joel Pereira, stop doing it.
Matt LansleyHOST
16:47
Of all the players at the moment, please.
Matt LansleyHOST
16:49
It really bugs me.

19 MINS LATER

Matt LansleyHOST
35:30
I don't really know how, why you would aim at that, at that near post.
Matt LansleyHOST
35:34
I mean, the goalkeeper, you should never be beating you at your near post like that.
Matt LansleyHOST
35:38
I mean, if that's Joel Pereira, I'm looking and thinking like, for God's sake, you know, um, but it's a good, it's a good straight.
Matt LansleyHOST
35:44
It's a good connection.
Sam GriffinHOST
16:24
I thought we deserved a point.
Sam GriffinHOST
16:26
Somehow Joel Pereira made that magnificent double save.
Sam GriffinHOST
16:30
Aaron Connolly missed that open goal.
Sam GriffinHOST
16:33
I think he should have just put his foot through it, to be honest, rather than try a little bit clever with the dink.
Daniel McIvorHOST
19:22
Generally, he's just been a fantastic set.
Daniel McIvorHOST
19:26
Mind when we used to have shit goalies? Mind when we had Joel Pereira, Bobby Zlamal and Colin Doyle on the books at the same time? Previously having Flapjack and all.
Daniel McIvorHOST
19:36
It's like, we've now just been going from Craig Gordon to Alexander Schwolo to Boros.
Daniel McIvorHOST
19:41
It's like, it's mad.
Ross WebberHOST
8:41
Dorsett, I really hate to have to say it because he gets so much stick all the time.
Ross WebberHOST
8:46
dorset was really bad in this game um and and and it's and that's a problem right because like the the theory of dorset now and i think for guys like myself and sim who are a bit more steady on him is that okay yeah you don't want him to be like your starting center back if you're looking for promotion from league one but like he's a perfectly good depth piece but this is the kind of thing that you would expect the depth you know to be there for right a game against the bottom of the table team in Wigan um and and he looked really out of sorts I think it does show how much Ben Ward contributes to the passing out from the back um because Portie O'Connor can do it but is more willing to go along um and that's kind of like part of what he was brought in to do anyway so I don't I don't hate that Pereira is looking really shaky so far this year, and especially with his distribution, he's just making outrageous choices that make it hard.
Ross WebberHOST
9:41
But basically, I think the other thing that happened here, on top of those personnel being a problem, this to me, I've been saying while we've been playing quite well, There's going to be a point this season where teams start to work us out and they start to work out what it is that we do.
Ross WebberHOST
9:56
And for me, through the first half hour, Wigan were perfectly game-planned against us.
Ben ThomasHOST
12:02
I really, really did.
Ben ThomasHOST
12:03
And they were able to create, as I said at the start, a lot more clear-cut chances than we were able to kind of rummage up.
Ben ThomasHOST
12:13
the second half there were spells where we were a little bit more proactive but it it kind of felt like from from kind of early on in the in the first half that that goal from Wigan was just a matter of time really and it yeah I don't know if everyone listening to this or watching this has seen it but it was really poor you know you you would expect a goalie of Pereira's caliber just to just to sit on that initial shot and not push it out in front of him you know It's the worst
Ross WebberHOST
12:41
possible place you can push it, right? That's the worst possible place.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:35
Reading had a very shaky start and very soon into the game.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:40
I'm waiting to kind of where we can give quite a bit of praise on quite a consistent basis to Pereira.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:45
But four minutes into the game, not really what you want away from home.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:51
Just a stray long ball, really.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:54
Hoofed upfield.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:56
Joel Pereira makes a bit of a hash of it.
Matt LansleyHOST
6:58
And probably we could have been and almost should have been 1-0 down after four minutes here.
ErikGUEST
7:07
Yeah, rush of blood to the head by Pereira.
Ben ThomasHOST
19:18
I didn't think it was as bad as everyone was making out.
Ben ThomasHOST
19:21
What I would say is that there were a number of players in that team on the day that probably didn't performed to the level that they they wanted to be at you know Dorsett was pretty cool Masterson had a bit of a shocker in the in the first half Jack Stephens I mean he made a cut a good save but goodness me and we talked about Joel Pereira before haven't we in terms of what he is able to do and what he's not able to do um but but ultimately you know the situation is that he's under no pressure whatsoever to um to concede his number one spot based on what Jack Stevens did on Tuesday night.
Ben ThomasHOST
19:59
So that was frustrating.
Ben ThomasHOST
20:00
I thought the midfield, Fraser was pretty poor.
Patrick MooreHOST
45:25
Come on, let's go.
Patrick MooreHOST
45:26
From the top, Chris Beach, Ethan Brulett, Harry Bunn, Joel Pereira.
Patrick MooreHOST
45:33
