12:08
[laughs] There's leather over here if you need to lay down
12:10
Yeah, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to help the Wild fan base.
12:12
Um, so I've been watching a decent amount of practices 'cause we had to film some stuff, so I had to go there early and, and watch it.
12:20
And so what I know about Quinn, 'cause we'd, we'd done a couple things with him, marketing things, Quinn is all about hockey.
12:29
That's all he cares about.
12:30
That's what he loves.
12:32
He is going to love Minnesota.

44 MINS LATER

56:17
This is what it's like with you all the time.
19:56
They have no GM.
19:57
Yeah.
19:58
So there's so many layers to this.
20:00
The first thing is you just talked about and one of the guys, Jeff Greenberg, I believe his name was, it was a top candidate from everything we had heard.
20:09
He pulled his name out of the hat.
20:10
So I don't know where the Red Wings are at in their search.
20:13
I don't know how many people might be privy to that information, but that's crazy that they're weeks away from dropping the puck and they don't have a GM.

18 MINS LATER

38:19
But who concerns you out there, Joe?
19:56
They have no GM.
19:57
Yeah.
19:58
So there's so many layers to this.
20:00
The first thing is you just talked about and one of the guys, Jeff Greenberg, I believe his name was, it was a top candidate from everything we had heard.

20:13

18 MINS LATER

38:19
But who concerns you out there, Joe?
6:25
Joe, I'd love, could you talk a bit about, for non-technical folks, the architecture of Canary, like the data, where the LLMs sit in, the deterministic piece, the judgment piece? I'd love to hear that from you.
6:38
Yeah, I think we do hundreds of microservices that interconnect in various ways.
6:46
I think there's different, I mean, there's a few different orthogonal ways that I think about it at least, but one is just more obvious, which is, we build data sets that don't exist.
6:57
So just starting from that.
6:58
I think the investment world, I would say, if there's still a data advantage that exists in the investment world across the mainstream data sets, it's limited and declining.
7:12
But there's a lot of niche data sets that don't exist and by virtue of limited distribution can still maintain enduring value for investors for at least as long as they have limited distribution and so we build as many of those as we can think of and some of those are horizontal in nature and apply to all industries and some are vertical specific and a lot of them tend to be needle in a haystack type data sets where we might look at you know millions of data points and find three cool things per year And that's wildly inefficient for an investment firm to do or for anyone trying to build a data business around that particular thing.
7:50
But it's extremely inefficient for us to do, especially at scale.

9 MINS LATER

Khe Hy
Khe HyHOST
17:01
Can you talk to us about using a tool like a Canary to actually make better decisions?
7:42
Joe, if you're going to butt in, get it
7:43
right.
7:44
No, I thought he was chatting about Diller Bedford.
7:46
Actually, we're chatting about three Bedfords.
7:48
Right, so you

19 MINS LATER

26:58
They're not
26:59
handed out.
26:59
They're not given to everyone.
31:33
There is serious potential for it to grow.
31:36
There is, yeah.
31:36
But I suppose, and we see it there now with maybe Darragh Sheedy, who's, who's a brilliant hurler, and he's played senior football with Cork.
31:44
Um, you know, like to me, he was, he'd have been one of the best minors.
31:48
We got to a Minor County final against Lisgoold, and like he was the best player on the pitch, and they had a couple of county minors.
31:54
Um, that's a couple of years ago, but like, I suppose the bigger picture there is, like Darragh might think, you know, "Where's my best chance of playing with Cork?" It's if you're from this division, it's going to be in football.
32:07
You know, you're playing premier intermediate football, hopefully senior in another couple of years with Bantry, whereas you're stuck maybe in a Junior B, Junior A maximum, um, down here.

6 MINS LATER

38:01
Um, if you go to a Limerick and Cork game, would you, would you have a slight affection to Cork, or would you still, um, shout on the Limerick boys?
31:04
Mm-hmm.
31:04
They didn't get to it enough in this series, but I love the way they started the game.
31:08
I knew it would be-You know, you had 40-some minutes left of hockey to try and survive.
31:14
Hopefully, you add to the lead.
31:15
If you could've gotten a fourth one, is it over? Maybe.
31:19
Um, and then you get to the third period, 3-1, and I'm thinking to myself, "All right, just sort of segments," right? Like, get to the first TV timeout still up 3 to 1.
31:28
Can you get to the 10-minute mark without...

12 MINS LATER

43:58
But yeah, same.
30:47
Yeah
30:47
... for those living under a rock, um, he texted with Dave Jackson, the referee, former referee, works for ESPN, you know.
30:54
He's got his number, so he texted him.
30:56
Um, and Dave Jackson said, "There is.
30:58
An attempt to butt end, double minor." So that would be can't tell if the stick really hit him, but the attempt was there.
31:05
Um, not super deliberate to, like, injure a guy, but again, the attempt.
31:09
So that's a double minor.

15 MINS LATER

46:00
Like-
4:20
Um, how was it last night for you? I mean, electric for us fans.
4:25
Uh, yeah, fun atmosphere.
4:26
Got a little, uh, Mother's Day baseball.
4:29
13U in E- uh, in Bloomington.
4:33
We're in Bloomington right now to wrap up this tournament.
4:36
Uh, first pitch in about 20 minutes.
4:40
Um, I'm doing great.

38 MINS LATER

42:27
mentioned.No, I-
6:22
Did you get a postgame interview? How'd that go? Body language? Are they pros? Are they nervous? Like, we need it all.
6:30
I sat in for John Hines and Jared Bednar, their postgame availability, the two head coaches.
6:34
You know, a little bit lighter with Bednar, obviously, like...
6:40
I don't want to say laughing, but a little more jovial.
6:43
The game was, from a coaching staff perspective, probably miserable.
6:47
Coaches would rather a 1-0 clinic than 9-6, no matter which side of the fence you're on there.
6:54
Obviously, the Avs are happy to get the win.

26 MINS LATER

33:19
There's phone calls to be
12:44
Wow.
12:45
They played at Orleans Arena.
12:47
Um, we won that s- no, lost that series.
12:53
But, uh, I would walk through the stands up to the booth area, like the exact same row, the exact same way every game at Orleans Arena.
13:04
So I have a little s- psychoticness to my, my routine.
13:10
Last night, though, I, I tried to scale it back, right? Like, I don't always...
13:16
Like, sometimes I'm like, "All right, can't throw that paper out," right? Like, gotta keep...

6 MINS LATER

19:30
Yes
30:48
Quinn Hughes and Brock Faber I think on the D side everybody's doing it in Brock Faber's shadows that's Quinn Hughes included and Spurgeon on that list same with Brodine but you Joe you have you seen something similar like you got a good look at the game and from up top like how good has Spurgeon been? It's
31:11
been unbelievable, man.
31:12
But that's – you kind of expect it.
31:15
And I do catch myself recognizing some of those little plays as I'm calling the game.
31:20
The board battles, poking loose pucks away, shot blocks, the PK, all of it.
31:28
And so at times you go, man, he's just so – valuable to this hockey team and then sometimes you'll go large stretches and you just expect it from you just expect it from a man he's doing this his whole career so um you know I when when Spurgey was in the minors many many years ago I talked to his old junior coach Bill Peters who was coaching Rockford at the time and he had both Spurgeons Tyler who still plays overseas by the way and Jared and And he told me that the Spurgeon boys oozed hockey sense.
31:59
That was the line he used.

7 MINS LATER

38:43
Where are you at with that?
25:31
Yeah.
25:31
Can I jump in real quick on the power play? So I noticed one time the first unit only got, like, a minute on the button, and we've talked to John Hines, Cards, you know this, like, he's told the top unit, "You basically get two entries," right? If you fail on both entries, he wants them off the ice.
25:50
Like, it's not fair to the other guys to sit there when they have, you know, just as much right to be out there, and the second unit's had success this year.
25:59
So I remember Hartman at one point this year told me it was, it was 1A and 1B, you know, as far as the power play units, 'cause he was out there scoring power play goals.
26:07
Um, so that's something to watch as well, is, like, how tight is the leash on that top unit if they're not getting set up successfully.
26:14
And I love the fact, like, okay, let's just, let's just say for a second that Hughes was healthy, he wasn't gassed, and they just made that change for just trying to switch it up.
26:25
Again, I don't know that to be true.

21 MINS LATER

47:18
Well, you're gonna put Hintz in if he's healthy.
