Where are you from? What do you do? What do your loved ones think of all this Tolkien stuff that you're into? Do they think you're a total nerd? Do they like it? That sort of thing.

Well, I'm a retired industrial engineer, spent 35 years doing that.

And now I basically, I do a lot of birding and travel all around the country and a few A few other countries, too.

I guess I've birded in about 29 different countries.

Wow.

And then my wife and I do a lot of traveling, too.

The question that we ask everybody, Joe, who comes to The Prancing Pony, when and how did you first discover Tolkien's works? And what was your experience like? What is it that keeps you coming back?
