She says the Funny Bone sees all kinds of acts, from world famous comics to local standup comedians trying to make it big.

Joe Gatto is probably big enough that he could fill a theater, but he wants to work on new material, so he'll do it in a club that he feels is better feedback.

It works out for the Funny Bone's well-trained audience members, who abide by strict no heckling guidelines in exchange for exclusive access to their favorite acts.

My audience is thrilled to think that this s- semi-star from New York or LA or Dallas or wherever is here in little old Omaha, and you can see them, y- you know, up close in a nice small comedy room compared to sitting way back at CHI in the bleachers.

My faith in humanity is so crystallized by, like, the shared values and shared reality that I get from people in places like Omaha, Nebraska.

I love it.

In the next six months, Omahans can expect to see names like Eric Andre, Joe Gatto again, and TikTok comedian Nurse Jon at their local venues.

It's all part of the growing effort to make the Midwestern city a must-stop for big comedic acts.

He has a new stand-up comedy special out on YouTube called Messing with People, as well as a new children's book called Where's Barry? I always enjoy my time and grateful to sit down with just a light of the world.

But yeah, Mike, and that's one of the cool things about this that we're learning is we've started this kind of like creator program where athletes, musicians, people of influence online have asked us, how can we get involved? So they will say, hey, we're a fundraiser.

We believe, I'll use this guy, Joe Gatto is a comedian friend of mine.

And so Joe is very passionate about dog rescue.

And he's like, hey, if you've got a dog rescue fundraiser, I'll give away an experience, right? And so we're working with him on one of those.

Be like, you saved my life.

Joe Gatto is going to be in Omaha late October, so we'll see.
