Jocko Henderson

You'll hear Fire, Fire Freddy agree.

Jocko Henderson was where, when, when we wonder why rap music started specifically in New York the way it is, because of Jocko Henderson.

Like, the, he was on the, that was, the original DJ was on the radio.

Mm.

And Jocko Henderson would rap, "What? Two five, two eight seven, one eight five." And, and it, it would be jive talk, and he had jive talking.

And the how I got the jive talking was because George Clinton used to redo a lot of Jocko Henderson raps.

Mm.

The Make the Funk the P-Funk, all that stuff was him redoing Jocko Henderson rapping, and Jocko Henderson was one of the biggest name.

And uh, I was very fortunate.

I, I, I ran into Jocko Henderson, W-A-D-O in New York.

I remember him.

You know, uh, and he introduced me to the entire rhythm and blues Black radio network, every program director all the way down to Florida.
