Job 3

Okay, first let's put where they're, how they're staged.

We can't forget Job 3.

Job 3 is...

I love Job 3.

It's where Jo- It's, it's Job's lament.

Key feature, not s- he doesn't sit.

So it is listed as a euphemism there.

Interesting.

Now, let's get started with today's teaching as we open God's Word together.

We started the book of Job last week.

We got through the first couple of chapters.

And we're gonna continue on tonight.

We'll see how far we get.

[clears throat] If you had to summarize the topic or the, the purpose of the book of Job, it's all about, uh, human suffering.

In the first two chapters, in case you missed our study last week, we were repeatedly told that Job was a man who was righteous.

He was upright.

But as always, I'll be reading from the WEB or the World English Bible.

Let's read Job 3, the entire thing and see what Job has to say.

After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.

Job answered, Let all that makes the day black terrify it.

covering their heads also with soot and tearing their own garments in solidarity with him.

But now finally, after seven days, an entire week of just mourning, Job is ready to say something.

Here's what he says, starting in Job 3, 1 through 3.

After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.

Um, just so, cause I know it has been a second, you know, it's been at least a, a week, two weeks.

If you're on track since listening to Job's Job, Job one and two.

So we're going to get into that.

Yeah.

So anyway, before we get into three and four, first, we're going to pray really quick and then we're going to recap chapters one and two really quickly.

And then we'll get into three and four.

I want to talk a little bit about a comment I saw on TikTok on somebody else's TikTok this week that really challenged my thoughts and I thought it tied in really well with Job and his story.

So I want to go over that too.
