To help the victims and their families, the San Ysidro Family Survivor Fund was set up.

Joan Kroc, who is the widow of McDonald's founder, was the one who started the fund with a $100,000 donation.

McDonald's Corporation then donated $1 million.

And with donations from the public, the fund eventually reached $1.4 million to help the families and the victims of this case.
