I was in the Supreme Court when they argued the cases and when they started going into the medicaid expansion it was kind of like whoa okay they can't quite be serious here and i was in the court when they started announcing the decision listening to how it was all going down and you could sort of hear roberts is sounding as though he's going to strike it down and make a quick turn but then they get to the medicaid part you realize oh something happened here And Joan Biskupic's book, she details how it really was like it was Roberts and Kagan, sorry, Kagan and Breyer desperately trying to save the mandate and Roberts being squishy on wanting to strike it down because he didn't want to be like, you know, the court during FDR striking down signature legislation of a popular president.
