Chris French decided to play Barron today the same amount of minutes as Rudy tonight.

Jack and I talked about in the last podcast.

It might happen quicker than we thought it might happen because he looks a lot better than Rudy Gobert.

It's the fact that they're kind of playing five on four with basically like a useless guy on offense.

That just makes it so much harder for everybody else.

I did make the statement in the last pod that – I think my hottest take going into the season is that Barron Jay will be a top 10 center.

And Jack heard me say this on the podcast.

But what is interesting is we're having this conversation.

I'm listening to John talk about what the Wolves think of Baron Jay.

And it's exactly how you would describe what the Warriors feel about Yaxel.

Maybe not in the athleticism part so much, but just that he gives them a different look.

As we talked about, they kind of went from being big heavy to very guard heavy and are a little exposed.

But so far, they've just... they've just been so dominant at guard and on the perimeter that, you know, having Rudy as kind of your one big, um, and it, whether it's Lyles or Behringer, um, coming in as your sort of backups, that's been enough for them.

And they're another team where it's like their schedule hasn't been, uh, you know, all, all that hard.

I mean, well, We'll see where exactly Miami, and we'll probably talk about Miami here as a team that has not won a game yet, but whether Miami's ultimately a good or bad team.

Makes the smart play.

Little concerned early on with Baron Jay and our backup bigs as well.

A lot of Trey Lyles.

A lot of Trey Lyles minutes, which I was not.

I guess I just wasn't expecting Trey Lyles to be getting the minutes that he was getting.

Wow.

But yeah, anything else off those, I think that Baron Jays looked better.

He still looks young.

I think Trey Lyles ends up as the seventh man.

And I think you want Baron Jay as the eighth guy.

And that's maybe a little more encouraging because I think Baron Jay's production will be fine.

I also think the Wolves will not hesitate if they're...

If a game is somewhat out of hand in either direction, they're going to err on the side of resting Rudy and giving Baron Jay more run.

Baron Jay needs the reps.

He needs the experience.

He needs to read more balls come off the glass.

So who knows? But yeah, I think for me, like TJ Shannon, Bones Highland, obviously their highs are very high, but their lows are very low.

We've talked about Baron Jay.

We've talked a little bit about Lyles.

And then after that, it's like, okay, Jalen Clark, you know what you're getting defensively is going to be very good.

Someone's got to grab a rebound out there.

And I love Baron Jay as far as where I think he's going.

He's a foul machine still a little bit, but I think the upside is so high.

And I don't know.

You're pronouncing his last name correctly.

The national broadcasters will butcher it this year.

I talked about this on yesterday's show, Monday's show, which was effectively a postgame pod coming out of the Heat game on Saturday, where I talked about my concern about the deep frontcourt depth for Minnesota.

Once you get past your Baron Jay, your Gobert, and Trey Lyles, there's not a whole lot else there.

And if Cody Williams is your backup four, which he ostensibly would be, right? I mean, Jaden McDaniels, sure.

TJ Shannon, maybe.

Was fine.

Isaiah Evans, not really anything to write home about there.

Baron Jay was fine.

Nothing crazy from Yuan, although I thought he was really good defensively again in this game.
