I love fried chicken and I love them collard greens.

That was Mofro with Hoe Cake from the group's 2001 debut release, Blackwater.

The title refers to a simple skillet-fried cornmeal cake.

Tradition says the name came from field workers cooking them over an open fire on the flat blade of a hoe, although historians still debate that part of the story.
