Jimmy Janicki

They have 19 newcomers and 19 returners exactly split down the middle.

And among the returners are some very important people, including but not limited to catcher Jimmy Janicki, who I believe will be a no doubt first round pick come the summer of 2027.

He is a better athlete than a lot of the guys at the position last are at this stage in the game.

He ran a 6-6-9-60 at Troy's Pro Day the other week.

So guys that are going to stick at that position and be kind of your offensive anchor at the same time are very important.

They have him in the fold.

And for everything that I've heard, and this comes from Skylar Mead, this comes from scouts, this comes from opposing coaches that have faced Troy, which has taken on a very challenging fall schedule, Jimmy Janicki looks like he's at the top of his game.

Like he really could be catcher number one in this class.

They have one of the best- players in the country.

Jimmy Janicki.

I think I butchered that.

I'm sorry, Jimmy.

All righty, welcome to another MLB draft interview here with On the Clock, brought to you by Just Baseball Media.

I'm Jared, we got Josh, we got Peyton, but we are joined by an awesome guest today, Troy catcher Jimmy Janicki.

Jimmy, welcome to the show, man.

Yes, sir.

So let's go ahead and start.

So the top 10 for anyone that has not seen it, Brendan Lawson from Florida, Dax Whitney from Oregon State's number two, Gavin Kelly from West Virginia is three, Tomas Valenius, Mississippi State is number four, number five, Landon Hairston from Arizona State, four, Got Troy Alabama represented with Jimmy Janicki at six.

Chris Livonis at Wake Forest is number seven.

Trent Grinlinger in Tennessee is number eight.

It's hilarious.

The guys in this range that I would consider to be people I'm way higher on than most I talked about on our last episode, so I'm not going to talk about them again.

In the first range, that being Jimmy Janicki, and there's probably someone else.

In this range, it's Camden Clark and Cason Evans.
