Well, there are two things that I still have on a wish list before November 3rd or actually on November 3rd.

One is that we bring Jimmy Glover onto the school board.

That seat won, that last seat.

He was the leading candidate.

And the remaining candidates, neither of whom got over 50%, are in a runoff position.

Recently, I spoke with Jimmy Glover, who led the August primary for Sarasota County School Board District 1.

Bridget Ziegler, a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, held that seat since 2014.

Glover won 44% in a three-way race in August.

And our guest today is Heidi Brandt.

She is running for Sarasota School Board.

She is in her runoff race against Jimmy Glover.

And the election is November 3rd.

I'm glad I'm still around to see it.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Glover, his youngest children were in high school down in a Florida school district.

when he noticed that books that he respected were being taken off the bookshelves.

A Guardian staff reporter writes, as a black dad living in a historically black part of Sarasota, Florida, Glover said he was especially disturbed by Governor Ron DeSantis' announcement that Florida schools would begin teaching students that black people benefited from slavery.

But now, signs the pendulum is swinging.

Jimmy Glover, a father of four and Sarasota County School Board candidate, he may be one of the signs.

He was tired of right-wing culture wars over diversity, COVID, and immigration in his children's school district, so he took matters into his own hands and decided to run for a school board seat currently held by Moms for Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler.

And Jimmy Glover believes many Floridians of all backgrounds are growing tired of people putting politics over students as well.

And now his campaign may make history come November with implications that could go far beyond his one county in Florida.
