... real quickly, for people that haven't or for people that have slept since they read it, what are the four disciplines?

Jim HulingGUEST
And, and, and I have a history of long answers, so I'm gonna actually be true to what you've asked me to do.

Jim HulingGUEST
A- and for everybody, if you're, if you're pausing for a moment, you wanna write these down, I'm gonna give you a simple way to catch these four ideas.

And then we've all also had the experience somewhere at some time where there was another level of effort that a team was able to give, and that level of effort probably was driven by commitment.

Jim HulingGUEST
So the, the, in other words, the first was obligation, but the second one was, "Hey, I'm on this team.

Jim HulingGUEST
This is part of our, our, our contribution to the overall success of the company." So we'll give a, we give a little more of ourselves because we're simply committed, right? So it's, it's better than obligation.

I think about this all the time, you know, and maybe at our stage, you and I are both in the legacy stage of, you know, what have we done that's going to last and what will be the greatest impact you were able to make? So I think we probably think about this question maybe more than the average person does, but everybody should be thinking about it.

Jim HulingGUEST
You know, I've lived through technological revolutions and all those kinds of things.

So here's a couple, just quickly, as you said, we've worked with a lot of people in the hospitality industry, as you, you may have heard or read about.

Jim HulingGUEST
We have over 2,000 hotels around the world using the four disciplines of execution, and when you start out with a team like a hotel team, you know, they're not sure what the, uh, wildly important goal is either.

Jim HulingGUEST
One person says, "I think it should be revenue because, you know, that's what pays all the bills." And another person will say, "I think it should be profit," you know? A- and another person might even say, "Well, what about the satisfaction of the employees and their happiness?" But finally, at the end of that discussion in our hospitality clients, they come back to a single compass that points north, and that's the experience of every guest.

Jim HulingGUEST
So you see how they have to weigh all those options, but in this case, most of them ended up saying, "The wildly important goal for us is the experience of our guests." And those that have chosen that and have used the four disciplines have been able to take their guest experience score, or guest satisfaction score some would call it, to levels they've never even had before.

Jim HulingGUEST
In fact, we have not only the largest hospitality company in the world, but 23 different hospitality companies around the world all using the four disciplines, all setting records in the guest experience.
