Jim Grabowski

Now, in a winless start for the Illini, they can trace their problems to just about every position except running back, where the headliner remains their all-time leading rusher, Robert Holcomb.

Robert Holcomb, and when you talk about running backs at Illinois, you're talking about Red Grange, Jim Grabowski, and others.

Holcomb has broken all their records: 3,428 yards in 25 consecutive starts, and he'll be there to help young freshman, redshirt freshman, Tim Lavery in just his second start against tough Big Ten competition.

It'll be exciting today.

But starting in the mid-60s, there was that bidding war, even for existing players, and then the draft.

And, in fact, the Packers— and signed basically what they thought would be their backfield of the future in the 1966 NFL draft, Donnie Anderson and Jim Grabowski.

But they had to pay those two guys infinitely more than they would have paid otherwise.

I think they paid like $600,000 for Donnie Anderson and like $300,000-something for Jim Grabowski.

And that was...

Exponentially more than existing guys, you know, future Hall of Famers were playing.

Um, Star throws touchdown passes to three different Packer wide receivers.

The starting receivers, Boyd Dowler and Carol Dale, as well as the veteran Max McGee.

Fernandez.

Jim Grabowski.

Jimmy G.

From Illinois.

Yeah.

Uh, 1:00 to 3:00, Donnie Anderson, uh, Jim Grabowski, Don Horn.

I mean, my God, you got some really good names.

Jerry Kramer's gonna be there.

And it is picked up and going all the way by Grabowski.

Jim Grabowski picked up the fumble and ran it in for a touchdown.

Well, what a turn this game has taken in its opening moments.

Running back the kickoff after the Green Bay Packers had scored.

Now Renfroe got out beyond the 15-yard line fumble, and in the area of the 20-yard line, Jim Grabowski picked up that bouncing football.

There was no one between him and the goal line, and he was in for the touchdown.

Chandler's kick is good.

So now the Dallas Cowboys will kick off to the Green Bay Packers Danny Villanueva does all the kicking for Dallas He is waiting now to tee the ball up on the 40-yard line.
