I mean, people who have seen, you know, the relatively smooth transition of power between Pat Gilroy and Jim Gavin and on to Desi Farrell and on to Ger Brennan at the moment will kind of think, well, isn't that just the way they do their business? Oh, no.

They might be two stone overweight, but they're out there.

It was such an energetic and energized time, wasn't it? Actually, let me ask you this, because we have really become accustomed, particularly during, to some degree, the Pat Gilroy years, definitely during the Jim Gavin years, to some degree, again, during the Desi Farrell years, and to a point with Ger Brennan, again, very low-key, nothing, managers, Dublin managers who certainly do not take a leaf out of Tommy Lyons' book.

did you see the interview with Michal Martin asking him about Ryan Tuberty I said he'd love to to be a TD Ryan Tuberty did yeah alright and Martin thought the questioner was joking and he started laughing and he says well I dream of I dream of winning an All-Ireland for Cork and that's not going to happen and they all started laughing or whatever and then he sort of realises that it was a serious question so he goes into full Mee Hall and he starts praising Torbert and his Fianna Fáil and then and then at the end you wouldn't be you wouldn't be afraid of celebrity candidates after Jim Gavin and Mee Hall and he goes I'll just leave it all leave

I played in a Dublin team.

I came into them after them winning four in a row and we were going for five and we came up against a very stubborn but talented Mead team that knew they probably couldn't outpower us in terms of the forwards and stuff that we had and so they decided to play a very different tactic which was a low block basically and this before the rules they basically put 14 behind the ball conditioned themselves to be incredibly fit and countered with they had two of the most talented players in Vicky Wall and Emma Duggan at the time in the country and they just exploded past us and because we weren't used to playing against teams like that and as well conditioned as they were and as well disciplined as they were we were kind of shell-shocked and had never played them before because they'd just come up from intermediate but yeah nowadays it's it's massive that teams are kind of using even like skills from basketball and stuff like that we'd use a lot of like Mark Ingle obviously was involved with the Dublin lads for a long time under Jim Gavin and broad route that was kind of three man weave kind of passing for me.

Gaelic football is all about angles and like not running straight lines and using these cut angles and stuff like that, which came from basketball defensively in the women's game because contact wasn't really allowed and arm kind of grabbing the way you see in the men's wasn't allowed for us.

It was about trying to get the chest in front of the body and stuff like that.
