And John, we certainly have a hero's tale to share with everyone today.

After 25 years in the Secret Service, Darren stepped away to become an author and speaker, founding an organization called Fierce Faith.

Darren and his wife, Heather, live in Dallas, and have four sons.

Here now is Darren Kinder, speaking at a men's event at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly.

We're, we have a great example of what this can look like.

Yes, uh, Jim Daly talked with Josh and Kristy Straub.

Josh had kind of an epiphany.

And I think as married couples, we tend to vacillate doing that well at times and doing it not so well at times, moving from me to we, and everything in our flesh is pulling on us to be, "Hey, be all about you." [laughs]

[upbeat music] Today on Focus on the Family with Jim Daly, marriage coach and author Dan Seaborn is gonna help you have a happier marriage by making a few simple adjustments in how you view your spouse.

I tell Jane all the time now, "I like how you do that.

I- it's not the way I'd do it, but I like that." God made you that way.
