Jillian Tamaki

Coming this Friday, we have an interview with author Megan McDonald.

But first, we'll start by looking at new releases, starting with Young Cat, Old Cat by Jillian Tamaki.

A cat's many lives, from kitten to adult and beyond, propel Caldecott honoree Tamaki's mesmerizing romp.

As descriptive text unfolds in spare fragments, calligraphic brushwork and tidy embroidery stitch the story together.

I don't know.

one of my favorite illustrators of all time is Jillian Tamaki I don't think I will ever be able to touch her in terms of skill sets and she has a line very similar to Craig like Craig I've seen a lot of his work as well and there's something so naturalistic about the way that he draws like I don't think he's even trying to do it he's just doing it it's an extension of his arm Jillian has an ethereal line that I have just I remember seeing her work when she was a student and I'm just a few years older than her.

I think I'm two or three years older than her.

But I remember I was on some sort of like judging committee and saw her work for the first time and just thought, this woman's incredible.
