Can you give us a little bit of background into what was at play at Hampshire amid this sort of national and statewide backdrop that Kirk just laid out?
24:58
What happened was a continuation of questions about schools.
25:02
Hampshire's ability to stay open a decade ago, or at least since 2019 and a bit earlier than that, since before the pandemic.
25:09
The New England Commission of Higher Education in March asked Hampshire, this is simple terms, to show that it was able to stay open or it wouldn't be accredited.
25:20
Can colleges stay open without accreditation? Yes, but at that time, Hampshire College was between $21 and $25 million in debt.
25:26
So In April, Hampshire announced they did not have enough funds to get through another term beyond the spring term that they were in.
25:37
Waffled, found funds because of a generous donor, a philanthropist, we don't know who.

Jill, what is the state of play with the Trump administration and colleges in Massachusetts?

We can't control what they do, but what do we need to do within ourself, within our control to help reduce the conflict in the moment? Great question.
14:44
So if you're in a conflict speaking to each other, nothing's going to happen if you're emotional.
14:50
And so if you're in conflict, if you're just in a disagreement, you know, you can talk through that.
14:56
But if you're actually in conflict and you're emotional, nothing is going to be accomplished by continuing the conversation.
15:03
So it's much better to say, hey, why don't we both think about this? And we can either email each other or set up another time to talk.
15:10
I really encourage people to email, not text, because texts are, you can get emotional and you can send them off and it's not the best way to communicate.
15:19
But an email, you can sit, you can look through, you can put through chat GPT, you can ask a friend to read, and you can really think about the way you're communicating.

It looks like jewelry, but it is your lifeline to regulate your system through breath and you can wear it every day and it is just there for you.
1:36
So can you tell us a little bit about how you do that?
1:39
Yes, absolutely.
1:40
Um, so this is something I am so passionate about.
1:43
Um, I, I have a big network of divorce professionals, and we were all kind of referring each other different professionals when we needed it for our clients, and I was like, "We really need, like, an old-fashioned Rolodex," you know? Like, we need a place where we can go when we need somebody in a certain area that we can refer to.
2:04
And so I started putting together, um, you know, this directory, and I have a co-founder who is amazing tech entrepreneur, and he, um, created this website.
2:17
And really what our mission is is to change the divorce industry for the better because we, w- we have professionals who are all aligned with this mission of lowering confli- conflict, keeping people out of court, and protecting children and families.
2:33
And not every divorce professional has that mission, unfortunately.

Not just your, I mean, obviously your network, but why is it important for professionals to have those other professionals in their back pocket?
3:59
Now, doing this kind of work, what are your top three tips to make divorce easier on everybody?
4:08
So number one, get the right support.
4:12
Most people, this is what I did, think that they have to hire a divorce attorney, give them a retainer, and start working with the attorney.
4:20
Now, the attorney is important.
4:22
I'm not saying you don't need attorneys.
4:24
You need attorneys because they know the law, and the legal questions you have to get answered by attorneys.
4:30
But they don't know what's best for your children.

Now, do you have any tips for people that are dealing with children involved?
