Jhulan Goswami

I want to see what our results are like.

So, everyone got Mitali Raj, everyone got Jhulan Goswami.

A lot of people got Anjum Chopra because she was really into comedy at the point.

Very visible.

And in India, she's perspective ...

She's looked at, she's perceived of as a fiery firecracker who changed women's cricket because before her, it was largely the likes of Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj, who were known as the legends.

Even I grew up just knowing about these two legends of women's cricket and two other players, Elise Perry and Charlotte Edwards.

That is all that I knew being a millennial born in the early 1990s.

It was a team campaign, sure, but Harmanpreet's 171 not out laid the marker down.

It caught the entire nation by surprise and got them to take notice.

Smriti Mandhana's hundreds did play a part as did, as did Mithali Raj's own, Veda Krishnamurthy, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey.

There were so many architects as well as the leading all-rounder at the time, a very young Deepti Sharma.

The team's domestic games and bilateral tournaments began to receive more viewership and for the first time in several years, the team's athletic performance superseded the team's gender in the order of discussion.

For people who've been following the team long enough to know the vast contributions of Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj and Anjum Chopra, It's common knowledge that this particular cohort received viewership, match fees and criticism in the absolute negatives.

When Harmanpreet Kaur succeeds and does it so commandingly over intimidating teams like New Zealand and Australia, the development of how this sport is played in our country becomes very, very obvious.

This victory is not only for these girls.
